In front of that is a middle lane of four spots, and then on the other side is four spots where your opponent plays cards. ![]() You have four spots in front of you to play cards in. Every card sacrificed is equal to one drop of blood that you can use towards playing a more powerful card. The whole purpose of them is to use them as a sacrifice towards playing another card that costs blood. For example, squirrels cost nothing to play and have zero attack and one health. There’s attack power, health, how much it costs to play, and some have a skill or ability. Each card will have four different things printed on it. You start a card battle with four cards in your hand, one squirrel and three cards from your deck. I won’t get into every single rule because typing out a hefty tutorial that explains everything would be way too time consuming and I’m not looking to write a guide about it, but I’ll break down the basics of how a turn goes down and how you win or lose a battle. I think you can argue that the genre is overdone and in order to stand out against the rest you really need to do something special with it. Run based, rogue-lite card games are something that we’ve all seen before at this point. Inscryption does an incredible job taking something that’s very familiar and making it feel so fresh. ![]()
